Brazilian bikini wax removes the hair from the entire pubic area. It is very popular in Brazil since the bikinis are very small. The hair is removed from front to back, leaving a little strip, or triangle or the shape of your choice if you prefer not to take it all off.
How long after shaving can I wax? At least 7-14 days after shaving are recommend. The hair needs to be long enough for the wax to work properly. That “long enough” is really different for each person and varies depending on hair thickness. Thin hair usually does not need to be as long as thick hair for the wax to work properly. With regular waxing hair tends to get thinner. Hair is never too long for waxing. If it is the trimming will be done at the office and it is included in the price.
How about if I have a period on the day of my appointment? The tampon is recommended. The service can be done with the same efficiency. It all depends on you, usually, the body gets little more sensitive during those days.
How often waxing is recommended? 4 to 6 weeks are recommended between appointments. If waxed regularly, the new hair grows thinner and less visible.
Can I get waxed during pregnancy?
Yes. During the normal pregnancy, it is safe for baby and mother-to-be.
The wax is really gentle minimizing skin irritation but ingrown hair may happen regardless if waxing or not. Experience indicates that applying astringent helps to reduce the occurrence. It can be as simple as Witch Hazel. More expensive astringents usually have Witch Hazel as their component. Ask for more details during an appointment as more personalized tools will be suggested.
Is waxing painful?
Usually the first time it is a little painful since the client is tenser and does not have an idea what to expect. But the procedure for Brazilian is really fast with my technique and years of experience. Following sessions usually are less tense, and the more often you wax the less it hurts.
How long my appointment will last? Usually, bikini waxing lasts about 10 minutes. Full body waxing can last up to an hour and a half depending on the amount of hair on the body. On rear occasion, the client may have a patch of very coarse hair that is not long enough for the wax to grab it. During the visit, the esthetician will discuss individual preferences, hair thickness, skin elasticity and might ask the client to come back in a few days free of charge for additional waxing. For someone with very coarse hair allows 2 weeks of hair growth after shaving to reach appropriate hair length for waxing.
What if I find hair stubs after waxing?
Occasionally ingrown hair pops out soon after the waxing due to the exfoliation. During the session that hair is still under the skin, not allowing for the wax to grab it. Ingrown hair is not always obvious to the esthetician. If that happens clients are always welcome to a fix-up 2 to 3 days after waxing free of charge. We take extra effort and time to provide the most comfortable experience possible especially those patrons who want to transition from shaving to waxing.
